Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to this journal undergo two stages of review: a pre-review and a substantive review.

The pre-review is conducted by the editorial team to ensure the article fits the journal’s focus and scope as well as its style and format. A plagiarism check is carried out using Google Scholar, Grammarly, and Turnitin. The pre-review process usually takes 1–2 weeks.

The substantive review is conducted by at least two reviewers in a double-blind review system. The review process generally takes 3–8 weeks. Reviewers may request a re-review after the author submits revisions.

The final decision regarding acceptance for publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on recommendations from the reviewers and discussions within the Editorial Board. Accepted articles that have completed layout editing may be published as “In Progress” articles prior to the scheduled issue release, so they can be indexed and cited immediately.

Individuals interested in becoming reviewers for JIK are invited to complete the online application form, including a description of their research interests. Accounts for reviewers and authors are created within 3 working days, and login information is sent via email.
